11.5-1 compression ratio with ls6 heads
I would like to bump my compression ratio to @ 11.5-1. I have a stock ls1 bottom end and I will be using ls6 heads with a ms3 camshaft. What issues am I facing? How much material do I need to remove from the heads and what head gasket should I use? Am I facing any p/v clearence issues? Also, how can I calculate the length of the pushrods?

You are going to want to get your heads to somewhere around a 59cc combustion chamber.
The milling is going to make PTV issues especially with a cam as large as an MS3.
Flycutting is going to be needed.

A new set of pistons would require him to take the pistons out the block and that means taking the block out of the car. Thats a lot of trouble when the pistons can be flycut when their still in the motor, still in the car.

I already have the ls6 heads with the new 918 springs and ti retainers. I have talked to TEA about doing the stage 2 porting but I just dont have the money right now. So I was thinking I would bump the cr and go with just the heads, cam and supporting bolt ons.

just throw some 40 mil gaskets on there off the top of my head with that cam should put you somewhere around 11.1-1 scr and 8.5-8.7 dcr perfect for a pump gas warrior nice trq curve also but check with tsp on that came first and if you really wana be safe clay it up and for the pushrods the make a tool for that real easy to use
