Can you use a TR224 or the like with the yellow LS6 springs
I am building a 6.0 that will have 243 heads on it and already has new LS6 springs installed. I don't want to have to sell the springs and upgrade if I don't have to. Has anyone in here ran a TR220 or TR224 with these springs without problems? Tbyrne says they're good for .600 lift where Lingenfelter says up to .580 lift. Then I search through posts on here where they say good up to only .550 lift. I want answers from real world people who have actually used these springs with a mid 220 ish duration and who holds the record for highest lift on these springs?

I agree with you, but also I don't want something overly stiff or brittle that will require maintainence either. So on the flipside, knowing the gm springs are designed for long life, I like that idea as well.

The Patriots have proven themselves not brittle thats for sure. In fact i've never seen a bad post about them. if they go soft over time they will still be higher rates than then LS6 spring. I think they will last as long as the LS6 at higher than LS6 rates. Just my thoughts is all

Do you happen to know what the proper install height would be? Not trying to be a cheap *** here but this is one of those "wife budgeted" motors I'm building here. I am trying to convince her I can do it for under a grand. I paid $700 for the 6.0l. Sold parts from it, bought parts new. So far I've got $750 in the build and all I have left is a camshaft to buy. Hoping not to buy springs. Also shims are cheaper than springs so if I have to, so be it I'll be happy if I can get a nice street cam to put down 380RWHP and 380RWTQ before choosing a cam I want to know the limitations of the springs. Not being cheap here, I just need to avoid wifal (is that a word?) confrontation
