LS6 Heads worth it ?
Got a guy wanting to sell me some stock un-touched LS6 heads for 200$
My car is a 02 with a RPM-5 cam, ported TB and FLP Lt's.
and stock heads
what would be the advantage or dis-advantage of the LS6 heads ?
I know if i bought them they would get a mild porting.

send me his info so i can confirm they are LS6 heads.
haha
real 243 heads are worth $450-550. if they are fine, go for it, but i would check them out well. they are the best stock head you can get...a nice port job from a sponsor like TEA is all you should need to easily put 420-430 hp to the wheels.

That is a hell of a good deal, I would grab them right up providing You know He wouldn't sell You something hot, lol.
The advantadge would be a better flowing head resulting in better HP and gas mileage. I can't think of any dis-advantadge.
They should have the 243 casting number right on them but that doesen't necessarily mean they are the LS6 heads with lightweight valves. Only way I know to id. the difference between the 243 LS6 and the 243 LS2 heads is to weigh the valves. Regardless, that is a smoking deal!

ls6 heads off a vette have light weight sodium filled valves (at least exhaust) which is better than my ls6 #243 TSP heads with steel valves. (budget). my stage 1 (stock size valves) flow 307 cfm at 600 lift. (intake).

I bought 03 zo6 heads awhile ago but I want to confirm it is true zo6 head. How much does the sodium filled intake & exhaust valves weigh ?
