Default How much to mill stock 243 castings?

I have a set of stock 243 LS6 castings (not ported, stock valves, stock chambers). How much can I mill them and run a 232/232 .598 112 LSA cam?

1st concern is P to V clearance. Second would be too much compression. Is 11:1 okay with this cam and stock not polished chamber?

Was told to mill them 0.020 to get a 60cc chamber and 11:1 CR. (Engine is stock displacement).

Just double checking here.

I think the 243's are .0065" per CC when flat milling, so to get to 60 would take .0286" to get you there.

Your compression ratio using stock gaskets and assuming the piston is .008 above the deck would be as follows:

Running 11:1 is okay as long as you run premium gas.

As far as PTV clearance, I'm not sure. I always check no matter what.

PTV is gonna be real tight on the intake side with that cam profile.

Ok, so I installed the cam and measured the clearance using the tester spring method. At the tightest point on the intake valve I had still have clearance with a 0.030 feeler gauge between the rocker and the valve. I will proabably just take 0.020 off the heads to be safe and be done with it.

These are stock 243 castings with stock valves.
