Was that on a cold start up? If so, does it go away after it warms up? My best guess would be piston slap which is kinda normal on these cars.

Yeah, after it's at operating temp it goes away.

yup, atypical piston slap.

There is a car here a guy owns, it sounds like GM's 1st ever diesel LS1. Heck its a m6/10 bolt car w/ 60-70k on the clock and with a lid and no tune made 326 rwhp (2 more then mine with less miles and far less engine noise). Loose is good, to a point
