Move up from a TR224/112? What did you swap for?
OK guys-
Well.. I've had this cam in the car for 3 whole months and I shoulda gone a lil' bigger..
Story of my life..
I got a Vig 2800.. Shoulda got the 3200.. Etc.. etc.. etc..
I am thinking about bumping the TR224/112 up to something a lil' bigger..
Maybe an MTI X1?
What have those of you who have gone from a 224 changed to?
Well, I've got the following setup:
Fast Toys Ram Air
LS1 Motorsports Lid
Ported TB
LS6 Intake
PowerBond UD Pulley
TR224 112LSA Cam
Texas Speed Stage 2.5 5.3L heads
XS Stainless Long Tubes..
Off Road Y
GMMG exhaust
Vigilante 2800 stall
Stock GM 3.42
Thanks guys..
Jeff

Hey we are in the same boat. I am also wanting something a little bigger than the TR224. I would love to go with a
G5X3 but I am not sure it will fit under the TSP 5.3 heads and a .04 gasket.

I use my SS to DD alot and the 224 is perfect for that. If it was only a weekend car I might opt for a 228/230 or 232/236 roller. Be sure to get Pat G or the like to custom spec one to your combo.

I have the 224/224 .581/.581 112 lsa right now (great for dd) and I'm moving up to the Torquer v.2. I'm just waiting to sell this 224 so I can buy the torquer 2. I made good power with the 224, but I just want more!

This is the one that I'll most likely be going for later on in the year, with 111+4 though, as specced by your good self.
The one thing I have to do is consult with my tuning guru, to ensure that I achieve the drivability results that I am after with the 9* overlap. I reckon we'll get there no worries at all!
Cheers,
Macca
