anyone out there reving the stock bottom end to 7k?
with my h/c setup the engine should make power to 6,800. but they say it can pull to 7k, ive was always under the impression not to go past 6,600. ive heard of rod bolts streching

You have a little better rod bolts over the 98-00 LS1 cars. But I still wouldn't go ripping 7k RPMs on the stock bottom end. You can upgrade your rod bolts to either Kateck or ARP to give a little more peace of mind. There are a lot of people reving to 7k+ with just upgraded rod bolts. But every once in a while there is a failure.
