Best cam to make peak power ~ 5800-6000, shift points 6200-6300 for A4??
I want to keep the power band LOW in an effort to not destroy my A4. The car will have full bolt-ons and a Vig 3200. What sort of grinds should I be looking at to keep that powerband very low? I will stay with stock heads and I want a decent idle. Ideally I'm thinking something that peaks shy of 6k and I can shift at 6200 or so. Any ideas??

I disagree, I think you could make a pretty significant improvement by going with a small cam. A 218/220 110+1 cam cut on XFI intake and XE-R lobes would make for a great cam with headers. If the OP plans to keep the stock exhaust manifolds, the next smaller 214 XFI lobe combined with the XE-R 220 lobe on a 112+0 grind is a good compromise.

I run a vinci grind, 222/228 duration. Check my sig for dyno. I shift at about 6200. I will say it will make a difference on who tunes the car as well. Before my second tune I didn't peak until 6400. After a better tune my powerband shifted down in the rpm range.

I would second hammertime's suggestion for a setup (although with a stock converter).
I ordered the XFI 214 intake and a LSL 218 exhaust lobe and 111 LSA +0.
The grind came out at 216/.600 and 219/.609 @ 113 LSA +0
The car runs and idles like stock with massive torque in the midrange. I shift at 6100 with my A4.
The mileage went up also.
I would take the same cam again but maybe with less LSA for even more DCR. I daily drive my vette so I need something that has a close-to-stock behaviour.

This is a touch more lift than the Thunder 224. Will it make a tad more power? Sorry to the dumb question, but the +4 will just mean the power will come in sooner, correct?

yes more power, more trq, in the shift band you desire. properly degreed and tuned, I wouldn't be surprised by 400rwhp/400rwtq results
