I had my stock rocker arms rebuilt by Harland Sharp due to the paranoia that they would spill needle bearings at some point. While they were out, I swapped in some yellow LS6 valve springs for extra insurance (still on a stock cam). I kinda want to send the stockers off to have them tested for seat pressure...they only had 65,000 miles on them, but I have no idea if they were still within spec or not.
If you are dropping in an actual, honest to God cam (not like an LS6, Hot Cam, or ASA), you'd better believe you'll need an aftermarket spring. Nothing GM offers for valve springs would come close to controlling an aftermarket, aggressive cam lobe.
