Default need a little help

took my heads off today and found that the number 3 piston has a couple nicks in the top of it. the cylinder walls are fine. im not sure what my options are. can i try and smooth out the top of the piston? the nicks and gouges are no more than 3 thousandths deep more likely less than that. or should i just replace the piston. any help you guys can give would be great.

Where are the nicks and what caused them? If they are not near the edge it's probably ok. Post a pic so we can see.

Not a big deal really, you can keep using them. Check the valves though to be sure they are fully seating and sealed.
