how much power can the ls1 block handle
i have been looking to buy a f-body i was wonder if through all new internals in it, if any one had an idea how much the block could take before it started breakin thanks

I knew a guy who had 650rwhp, i wouldnt really want any more than that..but i wouldnt suggest going over 750-800, you would have to worry about a whole lot more than your block cracking...your frame would be twisting pretty good at this point.

Stock internals ie. pistons, rods, rings, bearings, can take 650HP or so.
CARTEK has built two Corvettes with 1000+HP TT's that have done it on stock LS6 blocks and cranks, with the pistons and rods replaced accordingly.
One ran for 2 years and many 8 second passes with out a single hick-up, the other was done recently and it not a track car, but the owner does beat on it all the time racing Ferraris from a roll LOL

there is a treatment that will make the hard parts on the motor twice as strong and i dont think it costs all that much, i am not sure but it is i think a cryo treatment where the super cool them cryogenicly(not sure if that is the correct spelling). i read about it in a four wheel mag and i meant to follow up on it i will dig through my stash and see if i still have it but it was a shop in cali that did it. if anyone hase more info on this i know i will be looking here to read about it and it will definatly help the stock parts hold more power and it is cheaper then buying everything aftermarket. you can even treat a block.
