ok so heres my plan for a"mild" 383 build
Manley forged -2cc flat top pistons - 3.905" bore
Ackerly & Childs moly file fit rings 3.912"
Scat "H" beam 6.125" rods w/ 7/16" bolts
Clevite "H" series rod and main bearings
Scat 4.000" stroke 4340 steel crankshaft
Dart pro 1, 225 heads 2.05/1.60 valves 62cc chamber
(very mild port job)
.060 head gaskets for a 11:3X ish ratio
now as for the cam. im not goin apeshit , im goin to stay "mid size" so i can achieve a more broad powerband.. maybe a f13 or f14 highlift... something that may enjoy an occasional 150-200 shot. .this cam has to beable to be a daily driver if necessary
fast 90 NW90
svo30's
kooks 1.3/4 headers
6 speed with 4.11 gears.. possibly 4.57's
anyone have any inputs as to what i can change to make better?

I would step up the cam a bit more. I was running a Futral 239/243 on the street. If you have to buy injectors I would suggest some 42's incase you want to upgrade something later. Additionally what size tire are you going to run? With 4.56's and a 28 inch tall tire you might have trouble if you ever want to spray it later.

I think he is just using that as an estimate. I know stock MLS gaskets are about .056 compressed thickness.
