Default g5x3

yesterday i got my car tuned at LG and lou was kind enough to take for a ride in a customers z06. the car had all bolt ons (except for the stock mufflers), heads, and the g5x3. all i have to say after the ride is two things:
1. my car feels like a tird now
2. i had to use the bathroom afterwards to check my
pants.
on a side note it also is relatively smoother than the g5x2. at this point i am realy debating on getting rid of my WS6 and buying a Z06 and putting this new package on it. thanks for the ride lou.

I think this is the cam that is surpose to be so big you have to flycut the pistons even with stock heads.

Are you talking about the g5x3.1 or the g5x3.2? There are several test cams floating about.

Albert, don't be disappointed in your car, just drive it and enjoy it for awhile. Those TEA heads are holding you back, but that can be fixed. You did seem like the type of person I could see in a brand new Z06, so that's not a bad idea either. Anyways, it was nice working with you this weekend, let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

In the other thread he only dynoed 414RWHP (somewhere around there) with the G5X cam tuned through the exhaust, 428 uncorked. They are blaming the TEA heads for not flowing enough at high lifts.

Hmmm.... well, keep a few things in mind too before making your decision. Firstly, you probably do not have heads that are the best for that type of cam in your own car to achieve the kind of results you were hoping for. Secondly, you were in a Z06 which is much lighter than an Fbody (I think somewhere around 3K lbs. compared to your 3700 lb. WS6) and more low to the ground and I'm sure it had ported LS6 heads on it plus the other boltons. Thirdly, you were in the passenger seat. Your own car would seem much faster if you were riding in it in the passenger seat, it does make a difference. Also if you have an A4 (don't know if you do) and a stock TC or too low of a stall it can make a definate difference as well.

Just some observations is all.....

Actually, the G5X3 won't need flycutting at all. It's supposed to fit right in like the G5X2.

The G5X4 and G5X5 do need flycutting on the pistons though.

The G5X3 made 10rwhp more than the G5X2 in the upper rpms with a heads/cam setup.

Check out (LG)lou's post from "the other board".

Plain and simple, if you don't think the heads are performing, call Brian and tell him. He stands behind his work, and if a customer thinks that one of his products isn't doing what it's supposed to do, then he'll try his damndest to make it right.

TEA is all about teh customer service!

when you run your own shop and run it as successful as Lou then you can talk crap. you dont have to be such a tool when someone comes out with a test cam and doesnt want to release the specs yet.
