Default Frozen wrist pin in LS6

I sold my h/c 02 Z06. new owner ended up with a knock. Pulled the heads and found a chunk out of #7. Pulled the piston and wrist pin was froze in piston and rod would just move with effort.

I know #7 crapping out is common but frozen wrist pin.

Anyone else see this happen?

Wow, ko-winky-dink- I just read last night on a Blazer forum I am a member of that this is common in the 3.4 V-6, because they had problems with the intake manifold leaking coolant into the oil, and that would cause frozen wrist pins. and oval piston bores.

Getting any coolant in the oil?

Had no issues with coolant leaking.

the robman, intersting that you lost #7 on a stock motor. Mine was a 11.5:1 motor and NA of course. I guess it is good to know I was not alone.
