C1(hammer cam) inching in traffic w/ ac on...how would it be
How would my car perform ?....i called MTI and spoke to Steve he was not especially helpful....
I will have Stock heads, exhaust manifold and intake.
cam and valvetrain upgrade only on my daily driver./
The T1 was my first choice but it looks like a c1 now
222/222 566/566
is it too big for a daily driver, will i have to spin it up to 4000 to feel the power, is there a loss down low ?

Are you auto or manual?
Get long tubes first!
Cam is totally drivable, w/ AC, after a tune.
Power is there all the time (4.10's help).
Love the cam.

Good choice-MTI is the best in my opinion I have the X1 and its totally driveable everyday even though I dont drive her everyday.Call and talk to Wayne he's the sales manager and he'll take care of you.But I would definetly get Long tubes as well.Good luck man let us know how it turns out!!

I wouldn't call spinning through 1st, 2nd, 3rd "lack of torque."
Dude, get Long Tubes first. Seriously. And get some gear also.
Can you see my sig?

By the way, everyone and their mother had this cam. Lots are stepping up to the X1. I suggest going that route.

Re: C1(hammer cam) inching in traffic w/ ac on...how would it be
Thanks for the quick input i really appreciate it.
I want to close on this this week.
Yes i saw the sig i'm running the stock 3.42 M6 vette gear, were you spinning through three gears before you cammed ?
How is that idle ?
I was SOLD on the T1 after reading all the positive reviews....not anymore....i'm afraid the c1 will not be a good daily (in traffic w/ ac) driver....i should really stop being a sissy and pull the trigger!

I have the C1 (112 LSA)in my Z06 and love it. I have no surging or driveability issues at all. The power is there down low and up high. I just ran 11.74@120.5 yesterday on street tires as well (not too shabby for August weather).

The C1 is a proven cam, not too crazy but you will know there is a cam there. Its a great choice if your not sure. I feel that anything smaller is not even worth doing.... Plus it wont be that loud if you keep your stock manifolds. When you get headers it will scream.

Re: C1(hammer cam) inching in traffic w/ ac on...how would it be
The C1 is a great cam from all I've heard; I was planning on getting one at one time but I decided to go bigger and got the TR224 114. Now that the cam's in, I'm thinking I should have gone bigger! The only problem is I need to pass emissins so the TR224 114 is about the limit for me. Bottom line is: C1 is a great cam but if you like MTI stuff you might want to consider at least the C2; you won't lose any low end torque with a 224 cam like the C2 or TR224.

No driveablilty issues for the most part. It's pretty good with a little lope, of course! Remember you may need tuning...you may not.

I can only echo what everyone else is saying. Driveability is great and the cam does give a nice lope through LTs. I have a sound clip if you are interested.

Re: C1(hammer cam) inching in traffic w/ ac on...how would it be
The C1 is a very streetable daily driver cam. I have the C1 on a 114 b/c I have A4. IMO I think it is better for a daily driver than C2 because of less lift, not going to beat up your valve train as much. But that is just my personal opinion. One of my best friends has the C2 on his daily driver. As for as LTs LG is prob the best out there right now. Don't know how "legal" you want to stay. I don't know if LGM has put out the catted version yet. No cats with stingers will be freakin loud. I've got FLPs so I could swap out the cats. TPIS are good I just heard of some people getting leaks at the slip fitting ( not flanged). Heard good stuff about the Stainless Works headers too.
I think someone just did a poll on headers on corvette forum. Might try and search for the results over there.

Mirek, don't let it scare you. Really. Once you get it in and sort everything out to your liking, you'll love the swap. I love the lope and the way the car sounds now over the stock cam. There's a bunch more mid range punch now, too. Nothing like it for slicing through traffic when you want/need to!
