Re: ARE Block Talk
I think if ARE had been a little better a few year ago about stuff, more people would definitly be getting some ARE blocks and trusting them. I think the past few years with old management at ARE hurt the reputation a bit too much for me to get an ARE block, but I'm very happy to hear things are turning around up there. 3 years with no block issues is a pretty damn impressive feat!

Re: ARE Block Talk
I do know that the way that MTI has settled on after years of research is very very close to ARE's technique. I dont know all the exact details, and I dont claim to know ALOT about both, but i do know that the oven/freezer dry sleeve technique works very well, using sleeves thats arent nearly as complex as the Dartons. I also have no idea what brand sleeves ARE uses.
It does sound like ARE has the re-sleeving process down completely. Its a shame that experiences totally unrelated to the current management moved me to another vendor.
And besides, I thought it was Canada's aim to make sure that NOTHING newslike ever came out of Canada except on the sports page

Also, I have noticed that you folks seem to have managed cylinder pressures that other vendors cant seem to hold in the engine... definitely a nice bit of research there...
If someone wanted to build a boost motor for more than 15psi, I havent heard of anyone other than ARE or Lingenfelter keeping the heads down.

Re: ARE Block Talk
George had an oil leak issue, the back cracked at the tranny housing area, nothing to do with the sleeve process.

Re: ARE Block Talk
Question... first, how long to GET a big bore block at 4.100?
second, can you please explain the core charge? Price for block is listed at $2400 and your site lists $500-$1300 core depending on block? can you elaborate on that? gets confusing for us little guys thanks

ADMIN here.
I don't want folks to reference other people's problems from like five years ago and jump on the bandwagon on our site, sounds like that last post is the famous LT1 that went to NC/SC or whatever... I heard that story even like three years ago.
I don't want folks doing that.
It's not even a resleeved LS1 motor.
Keep stuff on topic.
Use the feedback forum if there is a deal that needs a resolution with ANY sponsor.
