Porting GMPP L92 carb intake...
Has anyone ported the carb'd intake with positive results? Looking to scratch deeper in the 9's with larger headers, a bigger cam, and possibly porting the GMPP intake. It just seems poorly designed compared to the super vic for the cath. heads.
Anyone??
Anyone??

I hope so, one thing it doesn't need is port matching to the L92's. I couldn't ask for better alignment there. I'm hoping to gain a lil by raising the roof of the runners near the top of the plenum and by sharpening up the points between the runners. Again total specutation, I'm still looking for some direct input on this particular intake.

ive seen porters epoxy up the floor and pic up big #'s.
have you tried an hvh super sucker or a wilson spacer to try and get more plenum volume.
i pick up 03-.04 and almost 1mph 1/8 mile with a 4 hole hvh. had to take jet out of the carb to get my a/f back in check.
i really wish there was a bigger market in the single planes right now... it makes it so hard to choose what to go with, knowing it might be a mistake.

You are correct....I've talked with Cary. Currently waiting on pics of one for my application that is not CNC'd. I can't justify the extra $1000+ for the port job at my power level.
The Cnc'd one in the pics is absolutely AMAZING....just a bit overkill for my pumpgas street car.

Whats the idea behind that?
Only reason I ask, is there is a big difference between how this intake is cast compared to anything from edelbrock or the one that Cary is making. The divider between the center cyclinders is wider than my thumb, and actually looks like it was cast as an afterthought.
Thanks for input guys....keep it coming.

I have had this same questions as you though. I want something better for my setup I just don't know which way to go.

yeah, I'm not talking knife edging them....smoothing out the transition is maybe better terminology. Perhaps taking it from a divider peak that is thumb wide to one that is pinky wide....
