Default here we go again with intake swaps.

Right now I have a vic jr w/low edelbrock elbow. The car made 530hp and 460tq on a mustang dyno. Before i had a stock l76 and went to a stock fast lsx 102mm and saw no gain at all. Both intakes were done using the same cam the g6x3 cam from lg motorsports and the 90 th-body,85mm mass air with a screen in it. Now-before the LG cam the car made 494p 457tq @ 6,300 rpm's with the l76 and a 244/252 ish cam on a 112 lob, closed cutout(517 open). a cam swap was done to the lg g6x3 and the car made 485hp closed cutout. we swaped to the fast 102mm and saw no gain. We then went to a custom Pat G cam and the vic jr/edelbrock low elbow and got 530hp @7,000 rpm's. So,I still have this fast 102 mm and am going to try this intake again with pat g's cam just to see what we'll get. NO other mods will be changed but intake. Now,the weather here is hot and may show some on the dyno. When going to the vic jr I gained above 5,000 but lost 25-ish-hp and 25-30lbs tq below that under the curve. so,in about two weeks i'll try an over lay of the two graphs so we can all see what happens. I know some will say this intake needs a 100mm th body and it may,i just don't have one to try. I think when done i may stick with the fast intake because with the lost of lower hp and tq from the vic jr,the fast should be a better street intake. Please lets try not to bash and have some fun with the swap and dyno graphs. I will use this post here for the graphs when done. See ya soon. Mike c.
Why am i trying an intake that i said i got no gain from again? because this pat g cam was ground for the l92 heads and this intake,so i just want to see what happens.

Remember, if you put a single plane on a motor you need a cam designed to work with it. And a 4BBL throttle body will walk all over an elbow.

If you want to stick with a 90, this may help you out AFTER you try it with just the intake and TB.

Sounds cool, please post up what you find out. I have a few different LS engine projects going together right now. If you're 20 min north of Waterford, you're probably not far from me, I'm in Oxford and Holly.

Also looking forward to your results. I am really debating on getting ahold of Pat. G and letting him work his magic with my setup.

My clutch is broke in now and i'm thinking of a 100mm th-body to go with the intake. Also,it's 90deg+ here and the heat will kill numbers. my boy lost near 20hp from a 65deg day to a 95deg day just a week ago. But,the swap will happen.

Quick Reply: here we go again with intake swaps.
