Default Vararam Composite Intake Manifold For LS3 Based Engines

What do you guys think of this composite intake manifold Vararam is designing for the LS3 based motors? It has design elements of the C6R racing manifold except only using one throttle body feeding both plenums. Each plenum was fairly large tapering towards the back and runners are about 12-13 inches long. I'm surprised I haven't seen pictures on the internet before but perhaps the Camaro Fest in Baytown Texas (Royal Purple Raceway) last weekend was its first public exposure. As you can see from the photo I copied from Camaro5 Forum it was being shown prominently at the front of their display. I talked at length with Patrick about it and we'll likely see it again soon in a later stage of refinement. The intake looked kind of tall so not sure about hood clearance issues on Corvettes but it will likely have no issues on Camaros. Target price of around $1,000. Please post your thoughts.

I think it has plenty of potential. I have been following the development on the Camaro5 forum. If the dyno results are there I will buy one. By the way I posted some pictures of it in my thread a few days ago. More exposure though is a good thing in this case.

Sorry for the duplicate, I didn't see your thread. I was in a hurry and must have overlooked it otherwise I would have posted my comments there. I'm looking forward to seeing the results once they are production ready.

It was way deep in my thread. The one you posted is better for exposure.

I think I have a big problem using this intake system. I have an L92 motor with the high truck alternator location. I don't think it will clear things. Oh well.

I just got off the phone with Vararam. All I can literally say is holy hell. This WILL be the new intake I'll be running. I'd expect them to chime in here soon..

Default Vararam Update

Vararam
VRX manifold
VRX Update: 01/30/2015
The Vararam team has spent the time over the holidays working diligently to bring the VRX to it’s final testing phase. Dialing in our Large Runner combination for engines with heads flowing beyond 340CFM @ 28 inches of water. We cannot divulge the actual CFM number or length of the runners at this time because we know our competition is watching.
Test vehicles
VR is currently organizing vehicles for independent chassis dyno tests on various engine combinations here in Houston area. These tests will cover LS-3 biased engines. The test vehicles will range from cam only, head and cam, as well as engines beyond 400 Cu inches. Testing will cover small and large runner combinations, long and short internal plenum trumpets.
If you are in the Houston area and would like to have your vehicle considered for testing, e mail us at vararamindustries@gmail.com
List the following information:
Your head flow numbers-
Engine cu inch-
Current peak RPM-
HP and Torque-

Upon completion, the tests will be posted up on our Facebook page, so sign up for the latest updated information.
The VRX LS-7 will be tested shortly, sometime after.
Production:
When the tests are made public you will be looking at the VRX as it will go into production. Our team has spent a great deal of time and money testing many prototypes components in an effort to address many issues that have plagued all LS engines from day one. These range from ease and accuracy of tune to lean cylinder conditions. Addressing both reliability as well as power production. A complete technical breakdown will show the detailed changes from OEM vs Current Aftermarket vs the VRX.
In the end we know our customers will be beyond pleased with the Power and Torque produced from the VRX manifolds, we guarantee it!
We will be guaranteeing a Power/Torque gain in writing or we will take the manifold back!
The days of wasting your money on little to no power gain on a manifold are coming to an end!

Excellent news. I will be looking forward to the dyno results. I like that the LS3 style manifold is coming out first.

Those trumpets look bigger than an entire FAST 102. That's some serious airflow.

After speaking for over an hour with the guy that designed it, there's a RIDICULOUS amount of tweaks and fixes vs "another" intake... It's mind blowing. That's the best way to put it.

What took them so long to come out with this?

Btw, it looks a lot like what the 5.0 Coyote has on top. Similar design/packaging but I don't know about the internal structure.

It took a few years from what I'm told. Didn't even want to HINT about it until it was a pretty solid deal.

Reminds me a lot of the Viper manifold actually.

The internal structure... You get a good idea from the video they posted. It's supposed to be a "perfect out the box / try to port it and you'll scree it up" kind of manifold.

I have a very hard time believing that. Look at the location and height of the throttle body.
