6.0 LQ4 should I sell the 317s for 241s on N/A motor
I picked up a very low mileage Lq4 I am using for a budget build keeping stock bottom end vrx5 cam and Ls6 intake. My question is it worth to mill the 317 heads to try to get at least 10-1 comp or sell the 317s and get 241s and mill them to get the comp higher. I know the 317s flow better but how much would I lose vs compression. I know 243 ect are better heads but my current budget wont allow it I am focusing on getting it together first. I do plan to build a 408 out of it later on so the 317s would help. So that being said if I were to run 241s or 317s milled .030 which would make more power or would they be at least even due to compression vs power also the vrx5 cam is 236/238 .601/.605 113 LSA will that even allow for me to milled the 317s .030.

I went from an 2001 LS1 long block to a 2003 LQ4 long block and lost no power. That shows you the advantage of the 317 heads with a larger bore. I would stick with the 317s.

Ya I think I am gonna use the 317s I will probably mill them .015 and then use a cometic .040 gasket for a total of .030 off wont bump the scr up much but will help and should be able to still use my cam.
