Default 2007 LS2, 1 bolt cam in engine, aftermarket cam 3 hole, will it fit?????

2007 CTS-V LS2. Ordered a cam through a reputable site sponsor. Mechanic opened engine to do the cam swap, and found the cam is a one bolt camshaft. The camshaft I received has 3 bolt holes. We are very concerned that the cam won't fit the block, even if a 3 bolt cam sprocket is used. If a 3 bolt cam sprocket will work, should the entire timing assembly be swapped for a "matched set" or would just replacing the cam sprocket with another OEM GM sprocket do the trick? Engine has been bone stock until today. Are LS2's supposed to use a 3 bolt cam or a 1 bolt cam? I don't want to proceed further on the build until this is squared away.

The 05/06 LS2 came with 3 bolt. The 07 it was kinda touch and go but most were single bolt. You will need either a 3 bolt timing gear meaning 4x or an entire timing chain kit. We have either on hand! And 3 bolts also lol. We have those too.

Would you recommend I contact the cam grinder and have them grind another cam for the 1 bolt pattern, or just have the mechanic get an OEM GM 3 bolt cam sprocket and keep the current crank sprocket? I already bought a new LS2 timing chain which I gave to him. Is the block machined any differently with the 1 bolt cam? Issue is the car's on the rack, it can't sit there for long, and I need to find out the best plan with which to proceed. Does GM make "matched set" timing chain sets, or are the 3 different part numbers for each sprocket and the chain? I mean, if just the cam sprocket is changed and a new chain installed, is that going to throw off the cam timing?

Thank you for your help.

3 bolt gear it is. What was a perceived disaster turns into what should be a relatively simple fix. Thanks all.

Just grab GM part#12586481 (3-bolt 4x Cam gear) and corresponding cam bolts and you'll be good to go. The cam journals will be the same size and interchange perfectly from a "size" standpoint!
