Default Solid Roller Cam possibly killed my motor

I recently installed a comp cams solid roller with the Endure-X lifters. I called comp cams and asked if I needed to run restriced pushrods and the answer was no. On initial start up I noticed that the idle oil pressure was around 5-10 psi lower than the normal 45-50psi. The oil pressure would rise to around 60psi at 5K rpm. Three 1/8th mile passes later the oil pressure dropped to 5 psi at idle. I tore the motor down and found the #1 and #2 rod bearings were toast. Ruined the crank and both rods. My question is has anyone ever had this issue with the Endure-X lifters without oil restriced pushrods? I am a few weeks away from putting the motor back together and I don't want to make another $2500 mistake.

There's some good information in this thread that relates directly to your issue and those lifters: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...id-roller.html

PS: Hope the headers worked out well for you.

I thought the issue was for the older solid roller lifters from Comp. I thought the Endure-x lifters solved the oiling issue.

The headers worked out great. I cleaned them up a little and they are the best fitting header I have seen.

If you started out with 45-50 psi at idle and from there it went up, your issue wasn't caused by oil pressure. You had something wrong somewhere else.

He said it was 5-10 psi LOWER than the normal 45-50.

Which would put the oil pressure at 35-40, which is plenty. Like was asked above, what were the bearing clearances? I would bet that the problem started there.

What I was trying to find out is if anyone has had issues with the endure-x lifters allow too much oil to the top of the motor at high rpms or just not allowing adequate oil flow. The motor was fine and running strong prior to changing over to the solid roller.
