Default need help with a friend's build

ok, so I've searched and I've searched and I've searched and i don't know what to do! We are building a destrocked 6.0(ls2 or lq4/9?) with a 4.8 crank, 243 heads, and a single turbo. Now the main question is... what cam to use? Originally I was thinking of using the ls9 cam but i'm just not sure if that would be best for a high rpm turbo build. I don't want to regrind or get a custom cam so does anyone know of any aftermarket cams that will make good power at higher rpms? I've seen the question of using the ls9 cam in a 5.3 before but never saw any results.

ls9 cam specs
211/230 @.050
.558/.552 lift
122.5 centerline

Thank you for all your help! =)

Try looking at the Brutespeed cam (EPP cam) it is meant for blowers but still works pretty good in turbo applications. A buddy of mine has it in his lq4 turbo camaro.

Talk to a turbo specialist about a cam. Maybe call Kurt Urban.
Why dont you want a custom cam?, it only costs around $25 over the regular cam price, and experienced advice is worth it.

I was under the misunderstanding that the price of a custom grind cam would be through the roof! Also, I have no clue how/who to contact about getting one made. I live in Omaha, NE and there are not many people who can tune it =/

Once spec'd Comp, Crane and others can do a custom grind for you. Also, you're gonna need a tune whether you get a custom or off the shelf cam.

Call Geoff@EPS. He can spec you a custom grind for your application. It costs no more than an off the shelf cam.

He was co-owner of Thunder Racing and now has his own shop. He was the guy to spec the TR224 and the Trex cam which are still popular grinds today even though they are old grinds in todays LS world. He probably could recommend a tuner in your area if you give him a call.
