Found this in the oil pan. I NEED HELP! My ls3 lost oil pressure so i deceided to drain the oil and found this piece attached to the drain plug. Can someone please tell me what it is? Thank you so much.

Are you guys sure about it being part of the dampener? Only reason I ask is when I took off the timing cover there wasn't a timing chain dampener even on. No bolts, not anything. It seems to me the engine builder might have forgot a major component.

Yea when I pulled the cover and seen that, I was ready to take out some frustration with a sledgehammer. As I am sure most people would also be pissed off if this happened to them.
