Is LMG same as L33, except Flex Fuel?

Is LMG same as L33, except Flex Fuel? Is the LMG 5.3 motor the Flex Fuel version of the L33? Was trying to locate an L33, but they are scarce. Thought maybe I could locate the more plentiful LMG engine and just ditch the Flex Fuel stuff.
