Which heads to put on my 408
I am in the process of building a 408 with eagle h beam rods and eagle crank with trw dome pistons should be around 13.5. I plan on spraying it with 3-400 and would like to make somewhere around 900hp to the tire. Ishould add that hp goal is on spray.

You can't put big enough heads on a 408. Put the highest flowing heads money can buy....408ci will eat up anything there is on the market. If you put 400cfm heads on it.....then you put 430cfm heads on it you will make more power than the 400cfm heads.
So the best that "your" money can buy.....
If on a budget....I would use my builders ported L92's, they flow in the 365 range intake...and I think he has the exhaust flowing 270's. Can't remeber. But he's got a bunch of 408's and 416's around this area making 540 RWHP and nice smooth idles. Like $1,500 complete ready to install.

you can spend from $1200 to $5500 on the heads alone and then add in the rockers, pushrods and lifters... You need to set a budget in order to get a good answer and make a good plan or you are going to be spending money you dont have. I can get AFR heads on the cheap and thats the way I would go if I were you.. best bang for the buck if you can get them for the right price.. if you have to spend more on them than I do it might njot be such a good deal for you... SO set a budget if you want the best advice on head choice...

This would be a great motor for our new PRC 247 aftermarket cathedral casting heads. Thick deck, 6 bolt design, big flow for big power. We have seen some pretty amazing results from a few customers with builds similar to this.

I'm curious as to why you would say 247? When I was looking at heads for my build I had you guys do I went to TEA and they say dont go over a TFS 235 with a 4.030 bore. For something in the 245 range you need a bigger bore. Just curious as to why bc I did consider going up to the TEA TFS 245 but reading the bore required I settled for the 235.
