Default Going from ls1 to ls2. Looking to pick up 50rw. What's needed?

My current setup consists of PRC 2.5 5.3 heads. Torquer 2 cam. Unported FAST 90. JetHot 1 3/4 longtubes running through the stock exhaust with a cutout. The rear is a 12 bolt with 4.10 gears. The motor had 150k miles when it made 426 rwhp on the dyno. Unfortunately, it ate the #7 cylinder so I'm now looking for a replacement.

This is a budget build so I'm not trying to go overboard on a high dollar stroker. I'm trying not to go the 408 route mainly because of the added weight of the iron block. I've seen a fair deal on an aluminum 6.0 so I'm thinking about going that route.

I'd like to reuse the 5.3 heads if I can. What I need to know is, will a simple cam swap, along with the addition ci of the 6.0, be enough to get me what I'm looking for? If so, does if have to be a max effort cam. Though the car isn't an everyday car, it does still see its' fair share of street duty. The current setup has gotten me 26 mpg on the highway.

Pretty much what I'm doing, LQ 6.0L, good cam and ported LS3 heads should get you there and some.

LS2 block, bigger cam, 1 7/8 headers, F.A.S.T. 102. Sell the old stuff to offset the cost and your in the game.

If you got the cash sure. Between the intake and headers I think you could gain close to 15-20hp

Wow, that's quite a bit for just those 2 mods. I could sell my FAST 90 to offset some of the cost and pick me up a set of used headers for a decent price. My FAST90 picked up 20rw over my ls6. The FAST102 is that much better?

Its certainly not unheard of with good tuning especially if you are going with bigger cam and heads

Also note, im including the 1 7/8ths in that estimate as well.

I would re use everything except the cam and headers. If you have the cash, yes, I'd get a 102 fast as well.

Also, not sure how much your heads are milled, but watch your comp ratio jumping up in cubes.

I'd look into a custom EPS cam and switch the headers for now, and later on switch your intake if you see fit.
