Default What rod and main bearings

I'm getting ready to order my bearings, wanted to see if someone could help me out! Had my main bore checked and it was in spec stock crank is pollished, I'm goin to check bearing clearance torqued in place, so I would like to get the correct bearing the first time so I won't be stuck with them if they are wrong. I'm looking for .00028 to .00029 oil clearance on mains and maby just a little tighter on rods, what bearings have you guys used to achieve these clearance's ( clevite h series or equivalent) part numbers please! Thanks

You're probably going to get close with an "X" bearing (ex MS2159HX for ACL) to put you on the loose side, but without knowing what your measurements are, there's no way to know for sure. There is a range that the measurements fall in to be "within spec". You could be on the low on the main bores and the high on the crank journals to make you're clearances tighter, and vise versa.

If I were you, I would order the "one under" bearings (ex MS2159H1) to make sure the clearance is too tight, then have the crank ground to the exact clearance you want. No mixing and matching, no extra bearings, just the right clearances the first time around.

BTW, I hope you meant .0029", not .00029".

Not sure, the machine shop just told me they were in spec, I'll check with them and see if they wrote down the measurements!
