Default L92 heads on 4.005 bore, should heads be milled

If so how much? The heads will go on a stock stroke block with Diamond pistons #11541.

Thanks

Based off limited info, I'd say mill .030"

Why would you want to mill the heads in the first place? Compression right? So what compression ratio are you looking for? Based off the info so far, it looks like you won't get much with this combo, barely over 10:1.

Those pistons have valve reliefs, so PTV shouldn't be too much of an issue, but cam specs would t hurt.

More than .030" and you can run into misalignment with where the head and manifold meet. Are you willing to have the extra machine work done to get it aligned if you decide to kill more than .030"?

FWIW: In my 403 build I ran -2cc pistons and milled the heads .030 with .040 Cometic gaskets.

I was more concerned with valve shrouding. I haven't picked out a cam just yet. This will be a street engine so 10:1 would be fine with me, lower wouldn't break my heart.

Thanks, what compression ratio did you end up with?
