Arrow on main caps all face toward front - 6.2 LS3

Arrow on main caps all face toward front - 6.2 LS3 I did not take engine apart... I assume the 'arrow' next to the number on the main cap points forward? ( arrow looks like this < ).
I am also assuming the writing on the caps has nothing to do with orientation?
The caps have bearing tangs on both side - so that does not help....
This is all etched from GM. Is this something new or are they all like that?
