Default Major issues with cam install.

Engine is a ly6 with VVT delete. Installed a GT11 (215/231 .631/.644 ) cam. .650 dual spring valve springs and 7.4 pushrods. Stock lifters/stock rockers with trunion kit.

1st start up at idle offset rockers walked their needle bearings out hence the trunion kit.

2nd start up at idle ( to operating temp) after trunion kit install, broke 4 off set rocker studs. Am I missing something here? This should be a simple straight up install.

No bent pushrods.

Odd that its just the offset rockers. Is it too much pressure causing them to get in a bind?

Did you measure the install height of the springs? Did you measure the push rod length? how did you arrive at 7.4?

Didn't measure the spring height . Pushrod was measured with pushrod checker. Springs are BTR .660.

Found broken spring debris as well. Looks to be the smaller ones. I'll just have to tear it down and check the valves too.

My guess is install height of the springs was off causing coil bind before max lift.

My uderstanding was the springs were suppose to be direct replacement for the factory ones. Still odd it was only the intake ones.

Doesn't matter you still need to measure the installed height to insure you have enough travel.

Broke springs = coil binding. You can't take anyone's word on anything with the fitment of engine parts. You always have to verify that what you are installing is correct. Other people make mistakes and you pay for it, literally.
