Default No Oil Pressure

Need some help.

Got my new 408 installed. Got everything plugged in and ready to start.
Crank it and it fires up on the 3rd crank. LOTS OF TAPPING. shut it off and pull valve covers to check the rocker arms to see if they are hitting. Nothing.
Was no oil pressure when i killed it. Tear the motor apart and check the Oring in the pickup tube. Its pinched. We change it and put it back together. Crank it, same thing. No oil pressure. Look down in the oil fill spout and there is no oil around there when running.

Any other ideas?

Any questions that maybe I could answer to better help?

Who built it? Did you install the oil pump? Did you shim the crank gear? or use a SaacCitycorvette delrin oilpump alignment tool? Did you prelube your engine?

Plug Is in. We ended up pulling motor and tearing into it today. #7 pushrod was pushed down beside lifter instead on top of it. Which made the lifter stick open and bend the pushrod. Got REAL lucky as the valve and cylinder is still fine. Reordered lifter and a pushrod and gonna go at it this weekend. This time the motor will be assembled outside of car.

Did you prime the motor before starting?

Had one of our local guys have the same issue with his 408. Not sure the whole story but it had something to do with the bearing clearances. Might double check while it's out of the car.
