Ls2 ctsv opinions
Hey guys,
New to the LS world, just wanted to post my set up and get some thoughts. I'm wanting to make a little more power than what I am currently making. Maybe I'm crazy but I'm looking for over 460whp, but I don't want to loose to much low end torque seeing as my car is fat.
2007 ctsv
Stock bottom end 6.0
Off the shelf AFR 205 heads
Brian tooley valve springs
7.425 Manley hardened rods
Yella Terra rockers 1:7
Tick performance sns stage 2 torque max 231/235
Ls7 lifters
GM ls9 headgasket
Pace setter long Tubes 1 3/4
Gm performance exhaust
ATI 10% under drive
Fast 102 manifold
Ported 90 TB
Lingenfelter intake
Stock injectors
She made 447whp and 410wtq
It was a little less then what I was hoping for seeing as I made 429whp and 406wtq without the afr 205 and YT rockers.
Is this on par with what I should be seeing? My buddy has a ls1 with a 227/231 cam,afr 205s,fast 90 and some porting work/ supporting mods and he also put down 447whp/406wtq in a auto f body.
Any help would be appreciated. Most of what I've been told to make more power is swap the heads to something bigger?
Thanks for your help.

Were the pushrods measured properly? I know AFR heads have thicker deck, but your pushrods sound like what a stock head would use unless you did mill the heads down as well.

Sorry I goofed, meant to put 7.450. I mightve messed it up, I used the turns method for preload. I'm going to get a length checker. I don't think they were milled and I didn't get a thinner head gasket.

Im not sure, my tuner said there wasn't a real benefit of running it up that high. I have a t56 6 speed.

Go back, run it like you actually want to see what she has in her. Make a couple pulls to 7500, or the valves start to float, whatever comes first.
What was the duty cycle on the stock injectors at that power level/those rpms?
Everything about your posted graph looks pretty solid. Definitely nothing to be disappointed about.
I think you just need to drive it with a little more testosterone...

Sorry it took me awhile. I decided to swap the cam and the fuel injectors to give me an excuse to redyno and run it up higher.
My other graph is in Jan and Feb were the temp were 30 degrees where I'm at. I never knew how much the ambient temp affected numbers till recently.
I got it redynoed last week, the temp was 86 degrees out and 75-80% humidity.
The cam I chose was the polluter v2 and 47# injectors.
The max before my car blew a radiator hose was run file 10.
Im pretty impressed given the huge weather difference. I'm going to put it on the dyno later this year to get a closer apples to apples comparison. The car is much faster. It is very violent and sounds amazing. The driveability is a non issue, I have stock 3.73 gears as well. There is not really any torque missing anywhere and we'll worth it imo. Any questions let me know!

hey guys wanted to update this thread.
I swapped out some parts on my set up and redynoed today and I'm really impressed with what I was able to put down.
Mast 215 63cc heads
1 7/8 OBX headers
Full custom ss 3'' dual exhaust no cats
had my fast 102 ported
changed my stock plastic intake for a 4'' tube.
run file 10 was my last pull in the summer of 2016 with the AFR and Polluter.
First pull of the day netted me 498 rwhp! super surprised.
the temp was 70 degrees and humidity was 58%
max was 506rwhp and 443 ft lbs. A gain of about 60rwhp and 40 ft lbs over my last set up.
very impressed with this set up, its a different car now.
