The LS2 is a 6.0L (364 cubes) V-8 small block. 10.9:1 CR. 390hp @ 5400 rpm and 405 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm. Aluminum block and heads. Cast iron crank.
The LS7 is a 7L engine (427cubes)! Not sure if the official numbers have been released yet since it's still in development...but rest assured that the thing can haul!

so are the heads and blocks the same? i know ls7 is 7L while the ls2 is only 6L but are they basically the same engine with different displacment?
what i really want to know is will boring the ls2 into ls7 bore and tranfering a ls7 crank into the engine turn it into a ls7???

I do not believe an LS2 can simply be bored out to LS7 specs. Aluminum blocks with steel cylinder sleeves, the sleeves are only large enough for a minor bore. You can easily get to 408ci with a stroker crank in an LS2, but the LS7 427 is a 4.125" bore with a 4.00" stroke.
There's a lot of other differences in the valvetrain, oiling system, etc between the LS2 and LS7 as well. There are threads in this forum covering the details, just do a search.

Heads and top end of the motor is totally different. But seeing as how it is a hand built and blueprinted engine then I would assume you would have one hell of a time actually getting one anytime soon
