Default 2004 6.0 blocks?

i am building an iron block 408 ls1, the block is a 2004 and newer. i was going to reuse the head studs that i had from my last motor which was a 2002 aluminum block motor, i went to put them in and they where way to long. well i found out that the 2004 motors and up where different. i had talked to arp for head studs and they said that the 2004+ motors had some differences to make them stronger compared to the earlier engines. they didnt know any of the other differences between the blocksbesides the head stud bolt holes where shallower on the 2004+ blocks.

is there anything else i need to know about the 2004+ blocks?

thanks for any info,

david

Its not 04 and later specific but you will have to drill a hole in the front of the block for the alternator.
