Putting a set of Patriots on my 1999 z28 this weekend, On the head gaskets what role does thickness play? Can i just pick some up from the dealer or Advanced Auto Parts?

Spend $150 and get Cometics.

If you want the best power and resistance to knock, get .040" Cometic gaskets from Thunder racing. They will increase compression a bit, while at the same time making your setup more resistant to knock and detonation.

They are pimp, and don't require a retorque like the factory gaskets. I run them.
