I am not sure about the sleeve length on the LS3's but I think that is gonna be the limiting factor. Usually, if you go over 4.00" stroke on these O.E. LS blocks the piston skirts come too far out of the bottom of the sleeve and aren't supported enough by the cylinder wall. You usually need a custom profile on the skirt of the piston to run such a stroke, except on the LS7's.

I would just keep it safe with a 4.00" stroke.

I wouldnt put anything longer than a 4 in stroke crank in any stock LS block. Aftermarket block, modified/sleeved block, yes.

Long enough to make it a oil burning short lived piece of junk lol. Sorry I meant that 4" is about all you want on a stock block.

Assuming a properly designed piston and a N/A application, you could run up to 4.125". Any variance from that and I would not go over 4".

Are you going to use a power add is the question. If your not using a power add you can use the bigger stroke without issue. I'm running a sleeved LS2 with a 4.250 stroke. Its an advanced build but just to show you it can be done. You need the right builder to do it properly but power add should be out of the question over the 4" stroke.

Yes but your aftermarket sleeves are longer than the stock junk. I think the stock ls2/3 sleeves only check in around 5.4" long

Thanks for all the input. I will stick with the 4in stroke.

Yep, better to spend your cash on the heads and intake for the small amount of cubes you will lose. Edcmat-l1 is doing me a RED sleeved LS2 as we speak
So 4.1 should go in that nicely.

I like it when bore and stroke measure the same. Like a 4.0stroke with a 4.0 bore. Or a 4.125X4.125, it seems to make good power in my experience.
