sheesh 2 minutes to put together an LS1, what does this say about our hardcore builders that have held projects going on for 6 months or more?

It says that they don't have millions of dollars worth of specialized tooling and robots.

I just visited the Corvette Assembly plant in Bowling Green, KY. For a few extra grand, buyers can now build their own engine in the assembly plant under the supervision of a master engine builder. That activity takes the better part of the day - but you do have access to the specialized assembly machinery.

They're building the Gen V engines for the Corvette at the Bowling Green plant?

Yessir. Only the hand built versions. I recall there are three lines. Two for the pros to hand build them and one line for the do-it-yourself option. If you pay to build your own, you go on the build sheet as the engine builder.

Very nice! I ask this because the Wixom center was closed.

Wikipedia says "In 2013-01-30, General Motors announced the relocation of Performance Build Center to Bowling Green Assembly Plant, effective on the first quarter of 2014."

If it's on the internet, it must be true.

Are ALL Corvette engines being built there or only the special ones?

The standard LS3 engines for the C6 were not built at the Wixom center.

It's just the special hand-built ones.
