Default 2016 Sierra 6.2 tune

My dad just bought a 2016 Sierra with the 6.2 and he uses it for towing a 5000lb Grady white 14 hours back and forth from CT to NC in summer 97 degree heat. What kind of tunes are out there to get rid of the displacement on demand and make it get a little better fuel economy and towing power? It will tow a 10,000 lb center console the same trip in a couple years, hence the 6.2 and max tow package.

Also is there anything else he should consider? Maybe a catch can, or anything people have found?

You don't think a supercharger would be painful with 10,000 lbs behind it rolling down I95 in 97 degree summer heat for 14 hours?

A lot of ProCharger's are used in this environment, it is not as hard on them as it is on a blower that is mounted on top of the engine that is soaking up the heat.

Check out this Chevy truck that had 230,000 miles on it when this article was written. Bob

You could put a low restriction exhaust system on it and take it to someone for a dyno tune. It's unlikely a tune will improve fuel economy over GM's VVT factory set up.....
