5.3 went for a swim in fresh water. What to do with it
I've got a gen v 5.3 with almost no miles on it. It went through the ice and filled with water. Everything still looks like new. Not sure what to do with it. Is there a market yet for gen v stuff.
Intake to oil pan, coils, injection setup and most of the front accessories are still on it.
Ive used engines in the past that have been in the lake without problems but these are too new for me to use.
Anyone know someone looking for gen v stuff.

I'd pull the pan and look to see if the rods appear bent

there is a market for them but it's smaller than the gen IV market. There are lot of advances in the technology in this engine so people are still figuring that out. Also the aftermarket is still catching up for swaps. Throw it up on the board I know there is a member that has been selling 5.3s with 6L80 transmission for 4500 and he's been able to move them

I'd soak it with oil and hand turn it, pull the valve covers and oil the heck out of the guides and springs. and I'd probably take the pan off just so I could make sure I got all the water out..
I've drained and run several boat engines that got submarine rides,, long as they don't sit too long your usually good to go..
