First LS project
So this is my first foray into the world of ls1's, and I couldn't be more excited. I have a 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe that made 487 rwhp on a gtx35, but as I quickly learned even a fully built Hyundai motor won't last long at those levels. After spinning a rod bearing I sold off all my turbo components and parted down the car to start my turbo ls swap. I've already bought a bare ls1 block and will be building the engine from there. I currently am stationed in Maryland, but will be building the car in my hometown of Reno, NV. I've always been a huge fan of the ls motor since my days working at Summit Racing and am looking forward to getting this build put together.

Any advice or recommendations for my build would be greatly appreciated seeing as how you guys are the experts. I've been searching around and doing some research and I have a pretty good idea what all i'm going to be getting, but am open to suggestions. Most of you know this isn't the fist ls swap in a Genesis and there is a company that sells the swap kit, and I'll be using a chasebay's harness.

Holy crap... This is so sick.
I have seen ls swaps in almost everything around me but never a genesis. The coolest to date was a 370z but personally I think the genesis looks better. Can't wait to see the progress as it comes.
Side note what branch of the military are you in?

Subscribed. I think this will make a pretty badass swap. I was debating on getting into a swap myself, but I just bit the bullet on another LS car so I guess I will have to wait

The game plan was to buy a M3/G35 coupe/RX8 to DD for a year or two and then do a LS swap/FI build, but I just bit the bullet and put a deposit down on a CTSV. So I will be picking that up in a few weeks when I get back to the US. Should make for a good DD, but I will eventually get that swap underway lol
And as for as the T/A goes..................
short term---I just picked up a forged ls6 block off of tech, and I'll be adding my AFR 205s, FAST 90/90, custom cam, upgraded T56 and a 200 shot
long term---The original block goes to ERL to get resleeved 427/454 and a 9in
