Default New guy from Iowa

Hey everybody. I've been a member on the Corvette Forum for a long time but just signed up here. I'm hoping to possibly find some good performance shops close by because I'm getting ready to start on some engine mods for my 2011 Z06 Carbon Limited Edition. So if anyone knows of any please let me know!

Thanks!
Ryan

Welcome. I've got family that lives in Des Moines and Newton so I get down there quite a bit.

I don't know of any shops down in IA (then again I've never looked either) but there are a few in MN.

Where in Iowa are you from? I have a good friend who owns New Edge Automotive and Detailing in Johnston. They have done installs on some pretty nasty cars. He owns an 8 second Cobra and his wife has a LS swapped RX7. If you want his information then let me know.

Nice. We will be down at Eddyville on Saturday for a No Prep race. My buddy who owns the shop I mentioned is putting it on. Should be quite a few cars there.

I might have to check that out. Wife and kids are out of town on Saturday. What time does it start?

Have they done much with LS7's? Do they have a dyno?

I've been talking to Tony Mamo from Mamo Motorsports in CA about a complete package(heads, Ported MSD intake, and a custom cam). The cam is designed off of the flow #'s from the heads and intake. They've been making 600rwhp and 550rwtq with a very "streetable" cam.

Most places don't like installing parts that come from somewhere else and I can't blame them. After talking with Tony I'm really wanting this setup. Will they do installs like that?

Racing starts around 1:30 and after it's concluded they will be showing the Iowa/ISU game on a projector. Should be a great day (as long as my car doesn't blow up and Iowa wins!).

They have recently done some internal engine work on a C5 Z06, did a nitrous install on a C6, and header install on a C7. They have done other internal engine work on numerous LS based cars as well.

Jordan (the owner) makes arrangements with Joey Keyman of Excessive Autosports in Sioux Falls, SD for the dyno tuning portion. He does very good work.

There shouldn't be any issue doing an install like you are wanting. If you have Facebook you can look up their page. Jordan used to work for Karl's Performance in Ankeny and ventured off to do his own thing.
