Talking New LS1 owner in a 1965 Corvette Coupe

Greetings, just acquired a 1965 Silver Pearl Corvette Coupe with a 2000 Camaro LS1 engine and computer installed. It has tall (3:36 gears) and a 700R4 transmission. The head markings are 853 which I understand are an early model engine, is this true? Looking forward to all the information available on this website.

Regards, Jim

Cool car, thats my favorite gen vette. The 853s came on 99 to early 00 cars, then mid 00 to 02 had 241s. No big difference between the two. So how do you like the car? If that motor is all stock you have alot of power left that you can tap into.

700R4 is not much different than the 4L60E. Both overdirve trannies. Nice combo you have! A lightwheight engine and overdrive trans in a classic vette. Post pictures!!!

Ditto, post pics

I'd swap a 4l60 into it, just to get pcm control of everything. But that's me. I love 65 cars, a good friend has a red vert, knockoffs and sidepipes.
