Soon to be LS1 owner checking in....
Hey guys,
Well, I am in the market now for an LS1 f-body. I am not really in any rush to buy the car, but I'd like to have something I can enjoy on the weekends and take to the track maybe a few times out of the year.
Nothing soothes me more than the powerful sound of a roaring LS1 engine.
For those who are interested I am looking into getting either a Trans Am/WS6 or Z28/SS M6.
There are some pretty amazing deals going on for these cars in Phoenix, AZ.
Hope to join you guys soon, but figured I'd welcome myself unofficially.

Welcome. I found my car listed right here in ls1tech's for sale section. It took me a good 5 months to find the right one, and I flew 800 miles away to go pick it up, but couldn't be happier. Good luck!

Yeah, there's a nice black 98' T/A 6spd for sale in I believe Tempe, for about 12k.
The beauty about that one is that it only has 18k miles on it and is completely stock.
I want to try and get between a 2000-2002 model though. But honestly, for the price and mileage that's a fantastic car.
There's also a nice red WS6 for 16k with 49k miles, also a manual but....obviously as bit more expensive.
I am not looking to spend more than 11500 on an F body.

I heard the 98-99's have a bigger cam, I don't know what that means in terms of modding the car, but I also heard tuning it wasn't as easy as the later models.
I honestly don't plan on doing a lot with the car, I will for sure do full bolt-ons.
As for the engine internals, I don't think I'll be doing much. Maybe down the road I'll put in a cam and maybe supercharge it, but for now I think bolt on's would do.

I wouldn't worry to much about the year. If you can get a 1998-2000 for a great deal than go for it. I paid 7500 for my Formula with 56k on the clock. With the extra cash you saved you can mod it. A buddy of mine bought a 2002 F-body for 13k. With all of my mods (Nitrous, cam, stall .etc), I am still under 13k. Oh ya mine is a little faster.

One of my buddies has a maroon hard top T/A with a stall and full bolt ons except an intake. I am guessing he is low 12's. I took it out on the street and punched it. I had him convinced that something was wrong with his car because it felt so slow. So he took it to a sponsor shop on the forum and everything checked out ok. My bad

Ain't that the truth. When my car stock I thought it was fast as hell. Then after a few months it felt like a dog so I started modding it. Now I am into the 11's without my nitrous and it still feels like a dog.
