Default Safe nex shot with a 5 PSi boost( Stock)

I was wondering if it is safe to spray a 150 shot with a vortechS/C 5PSI boost, on a stock ls1 without breaking. If not what would be a safe nex shot. thanks

with nitrous and super/turbochargers, ive found that nitrous shots will amount to double the stated power. as in a 50 shot will be much more like 100

Put a smaller pulley on the blower and have some fun. No need for the spray if your blower isn't maxed out yet.

If he maxes out his blower then he has a high chance of blowing his stock ls1.

And spraying a 150 shot on top of what he has now is safe? All I'm saying is, he can probably safely make 500rwhp by pullying down.

Anyone know what size pulley is 8psi boost, I have a 370 on it now for 5psi. I would rather get rid of the bottle not a big fan of it, it is a vortech v9. thanks

spraying 150shot on top of 5 psi isnt a matter of if it will break but how many pieces will it break into.

I don't know what size pulley will get the boost # you're looking for, but i'd imagine you could go to a 3.12" with no problem. Heck, you might even be ok with a 2.75" on it.

Are you running the Vortech aftercooler?

Right but if he gets the proper pulley for say 7-8 psi and has his car re-tuned (assuming fuel system is up to par) then that would be far safer IMO then spraying the car.

no need to spray if you can just use more boost assuming your fuel system can handle the extra power...

Hmmmm, no aftercooler. Thats why it came with such a large pulley. I'm not sure how much you'd be able to bump up the power without the Vortech aftercooler.

id say 50 -75 shot pretty safe. Im running a 50 shot with 12 psi on a stock motor. The nitrous will definately work as an intercooler.

the general rule of thumb for stock ls1 is 8-10 psi and roughly 550rwhp. Id say pulley it down and get 8psi out of it. Maybe even look at a meth injection kit to keep down iat's.

n2o doesnt not cool anything down, it will actaully heat things up and create high cylinder pressure.

yep I agree. don't use a shot on the setup you have until your motor is built. there is no point to spend the extra dollars for it when you can just swap out the pulley for 7 or 8 psi. there has been many people run 8 psi on a stock motor & safe tune and do ok. you'll hit over 500rwhp @ 8.
