Is it just me or... Does almost every computer rendered image of a would-be 5th gen firebird/ta look a little bit better than this camaro we are about to get???

No it's not just you, they do look good. 
But they are just that, computer generated renderings.
Computer generated/photoshopped photos of females often look better than the average middle aged housewife as well but that still doesn't make them better in bed.

I like most of the Pontiac renderings, but I don't think GM wants to create any extra competition for the Camaro. They don't need a repeat of the 4th gens (Camaro and Firebirds combined) getting out sold by the Mustang 2 to 1.
