Just curious if there i any "risk" throwing a couple degrees in my car at the track. Rough breakdown of my set-up:

370ci 9.1:1cr
T4ST80 at ~11psi
dual nozzle alky control kit running pure meth
91 octane with a gallon or two of 110 mixed in a full tank
17* built into the tune

I have efi live and can add a couple degrees if I want. Ambient temps should be in the 75--85* range or cooler.

Whatcha think? I figured I'd be okay throwing a couple more in it if I need to shave a few hundreths

looking for 9's huh.... Are you talking 2 degrees or more? Can you not just up the boost to try that instead?

Give it an initial baseline run at the track on 17* and check the knock tables. If they look good (ie no knock) with a stable AFR (11.xx), then you can try a couple degrees. If it begins recording knock, get off the gas and bring it back to the previous 17*.

As a side point, I ran a fat 11.1 AFR on my STS, but bumped the timing to 20* safely. It was only 5PSI, but the principle is the same.

Good luck on the 9's. At least it's not raining where you are.....like here

I am LOW 11.XX AFR too. I talked to my tuner and he said just go 1* at a time and I should be fine with 20. Can't up the boost because the tune is locked.

How are you able to add timing but not boost if the tune is locked????

I run 12 psi with a fat afr. low 11 high 10 . and 20 deg. timing and strait meth. Going from 18 - 20 gave me 25 hp or so.

Im also stock motor

EFI live can add timing while it is running, but can not permanatly alter a locked tune.
