Default how long will my 10 bolt last with 4:10's and E/T streets?

I have zero traction at the track. My best 60 is 2.488. I spin through second and slightly in third, so I decided I've got to get some tires. I was gonna get some nitto's but I found a good deal on some et streets. Do you think I can make my rear last a little while if I launch really carefully for a while? I want some real world advice. I know eveyone says "your rear is gonna break" as soon as you mention 4:10's in an M6. But if I really take it easy on the launch and the 1-2 shift, will it last a while? tia

Hehe I broke my 10 bolt 3 times with 4.10s and Nitto DR's. I even rebuilt the rear end with all Ratech parts etc.

You could break a tooth off a gear or bend an axle on the 1st pass or you could run no problem for 6 months. There is really no way to tell you how long.

If you have $$ buy a 12 bolt, if you don't I would run drag radials with your 4.10's, you will get alot more life out of the rear end. I wable to cut high 1.8 60's on Nittos.

But thats just my thoughts, good luck dude.

thanks, thats kinda what I thought also, it may last or it may break on the first launch. the bottom line is I'm not gonna buy a twelve bolt until I break the stock rear, so I'm just gonna go for it, probably launch at 5,000rpms first pass.

383, I have the same philosophy; it's (10 bolt) not comin' out 'till it's broken.
Nitto's hook up great. Get 'em.

I ran 4.10s with BFG DRs launching at 2000 rpm and 1.80-1.90 60 fts with no problems.
If you dump high they will blow,,
I have over 2500 runs on the car and have not broken much!!!

You may be ok for a while if the track is really not hooking worth anything. Avoid high RPM launches with the ET streets.

Well, I can't speak for 4.10's, but the stock 3.42 is going to be introduced to a set of sticky mickeys this weekend. 13,000 miles on the car and not a peep out of the dif.
