Stock TB question
Ok, does the plastic top of the TB actually do anything besides keep out dirt from getting into the internals of the TB?
Reason being is I have an idea for a unique dress up part (to replace this piece) but I am unsure if I will be able to get it to have an airtight seal. Do you think this would cause any problems?

Yea thats the piece, but does it matter if what you replace it with makes an airtight seal with the body of the TB? Or is it more of to keep debris from getting into the moving parts of the TB? Because I am thinking of fabricating a new name plate with materials that I dont think I could get an airtight seal with.

I'm not sure the exact purpose of them, but they're vacuum passages either way you look at it, and having some RTV get lodged in there isn't something you want You would have to spread that stuff SOOOO damn thin for it not to ooze out when bolted back down.

dont use any liquid sealer, rtv, or anything like that...cardboard will be fine on this...good luck
