Default #806 head castings?

I am asking this question for a friend of mine, but he keeps telling me that he has LS6 heads and an intake that came with his car which is a 98 Z28 A4. He has mentioned that he believes that the car is a B4C, but i haven't done a whole lot of research on them to know what they come with. He has decided he wants to put a cam in the car, and someone i guess told him if he does have LS6 heads then he does not have to worry about buying new valve springs (yes i realize that there is a certain amount of truth to that) depending on how big of a cam he goes with. The heads have a casting of #806 and once i check to make sure, he said that the valve cover's are bolted around the perimeter. thanks for any help.

LS6 head is a 243. The 806 is the stock LS1 head for the 97 and 98 LS1. All the LS6 heads are also center bolt for the valve covers.

Stock valve springs can barely handle the stock cam. 806 are stock heads for that year as stated above.
